A Tour of Gamblers Warehouse (Where my the final step is happening)
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Jul 23, 2022 at 03:25:02 AM

Hey Gang!

I just got back from Utah and Texas where I signed over 16,000 items for the Kickstarter campaign.

We are finishing up editing the YouTube video for the mega signing extravaganza that happened in Utah and that should be out on my channel soon.

But this is some extra footage from Texas where I got to see how the sleeves are being manufactured for the decks and tour the Gamblers Warehouse facilities. I also signed 1,300 decks while I was in Texas, for the folks who got the signature add-on for their decks.

The only thing I have left to sign is the special edition black decks for those folks who selected that deck to be signed on their add-on. Gamblers will ship me those decks when they are done and I will sign them at my studio, then ship them back.

Gamblers also sent me some photos of the golden ticket sleeves and a few pics of the decks that have been celo-wrapped.

Golden Ticket

Celo Wrapped

In the last couple updates we were worried about the automatic celo-wrapping machines. It looks like they are going to work!! Woo! Only thing is, that the size difference with the sleeve on there has a tendency to jam up the machine and they have to reset it when that happens.

So not a perfect solution, but still waaaayyyyy better than trying to celo-wrap all these decks by hand!

I consider that a win!

As you can see in the video, they are busy getting all these decks done. When they are good to go on the Vivid Kingdoms Decks, Kings Blood Decks, and Golden Ticket decks they will ship them to Utah and orders will start shipping out.

The special edition black decks should follow soon after that when the gilding process is done.

You all can still edit your addresses on the BackerKit surveys that went out. When everything is ready to ship I will lock the addresses (But I will warn you all several days in advance before I do that)

Note: The system we have devised for slipping the golden tickets into orders will make sure that even the people who have the special edition black decks will still have equal opportunity to get a golden ticket in their order as everyone else. So no worries on that front even though the black decks will be slightly delayed due to gilding.

Anyway. Thanks so much for the support!

Aren't those machines at gamblers warehouse insane?

They seem so mechanical and old-timey. Like steam punk robots or something.

I thought they were awesome.

Hope everyone is having an awesome day!

The finish line is close :)

Cheers

HEADING TO UTAH to sign an obscene amount of things :)
almost 2 years ago – Thu, Jul 07, 2022 at 05:47:37 AM

Hey Folks!

It's 2:00am.

I am just waiting for the rest of my team to wake up so we can hit the road to the airport to fly to Utah.

We are heading out there so I can sign all the Uncut sheets and Giclee prints!

I will be signing well over 10,000 items (I still need to run the exact numbers when I get there. Pretty sure it's closer to 15-20k items)

We are going to be out there July 6-13. I hope that is enough time to sign everything.

I think if I can sign at least 3,500 items per day that should be a good pace.

After I finish up in Utah. I am heading to Texas (where the sleeves for the cards are currently being made) to sign the 1500 decks of cards I need to sign.

The sleeve makers now have the special die's made and have made a few sleeves and they said they are gonna be testing the celo-wrapping machines any time now.

If you remember in my last post, we are waiting to see if the automatic celo-wrapping machines will work on my deck even though it is a slightly different size than a regular deck.

Keep crossing your fingers those machines will work because that will seriously speed up production if they work.

I am bringing all my employees with me to Utah so they can set up an assembly line of items for me to keep signing in the most efficient way. We are also gonna be filming the process, so keep an eye out for a YouTube video on that soon.

**Side Note** All my employees are coming with me to Utah, so if anyone places an order on my website, no one is there to ship it at the moment. Orders will start shipping July 14. I have banners on my website saying the same thing, but figured I would mention it here.

Anyway, just wanted to keep you updated on what is going on.

We are westward bound and excited!

Every single signature I make over the next week represents one of you who supported me, and my art and this project. Thank you so so so much for that support. I am outrageously thankful for each of you!

Thanks!

Peter

P.S. I ordered a bunch of wrists braces and special squishy pen grips and a bunch of other stuff off amazon, so hopefully that will help with the signing :)

More info from the sleeve maker.
almost 2 years ago – Wed, Jun 22, 2022 at 12:21:23 AM

Just got off the phone with the sleeve maker.

He said it should take him about 2-3 weeks to make the sleeves.

The die's have already been ordered and should arrive to him tomorrow.

He said he can't give me a firm finish date because they are not sure if their celo-wrapping machine will be able to automatically wrap them once the sleeves are on the decks because they will be a little bit of a different size than a regular deck.

If the automatic machines are not able to wrap them, they will have to do it by hand which will add a currently unknown amount time.

He will be testing the machines once he has the first batch of sleeves done. When they know what the celo-wraping situation is they can give me a more accurate time estimate.

Everyone cross your fingers that the automatic wrapping machines work!

Another side note.

For those that got the Special Edition Black Deck. The gilding on those decks is happening right now, but the gilding process will add another 3 or 4 weeks to shipping them.

Everyone else's orders will start shipping out before the special editions are done.  And then those who have a special edition on their order will get theirs sent out once those decks are done. (This will not affect your opportunity for a Golden Ticket deck to be in your package)

Hope everyone is having a great day.

I will let you know about the celo-wrapping soonish.

Thanks

Peter

We are at the final step.
almost 2 years ago – Wed, Jun 22, 2022 at 12:09:23 AM

The playing cards are in Texas and the outer sleeves are being made.

I have asked several times for an estimated timeline from the sleeve makers on how long they will take but I haven't got one yet.

As I am typing this I just called the sleeve maker again and they just texted me back saying he would call me later today, so maybe I can update a bit later.

I was going to wait to post this update until I had a timeline on the sleeves but I am getting a ton of messages asking for an update.

Once the sleeves are done all the cards will go to Utah and everything will ship from my fulfillment partners in Utah.

The sleeves are the last step and then everything will ship.

It is stressful waiting on manufacturers to make the items while receiving dozens of messages everyday from people saying "where are the cards!?".

All the other stuff like the apparel, stickers, and prints were done very quickly. I am not sure why the cards go so slow.

Thank you all for your patience. The wait is almost over.
